The managing partner of Maxivisão, an optician based in Vila Nova de Poiares, won the International Opticians Association (IOA) award, organised in partnership with Silmo Paris.

The title ‘International Optician of the Year’ has been awarded since 2018 and ‘distinguishes opticians who make a difference’. The nomination is based on their commitment to the profession, on eight pillars: professionalism, exceptional communication, entrepreneurial spirit, innovation, specialisation, creativity, connection with the community and tireless defence of the quality of the profession.

In addition to this honour, Vítor Martins was invited to be a member of the board of the International Opticians Association and, together with Ana Carvalho (his partner and wife), appointed IOA ambassadors in Europe. On their Facebook page, they are grateful for the recognition and say that they accepted the invitation with ‘enormous pride and a sense of responsibility’.

They say: ‘Our focus will always be on adding value to our sector, with good commercial practices and top quality products, but always with a humble vision and with the future in mind. We’ve had one of the happiest days of our lives, we’ve socialised with many friends from international optics and it’s these days that give us even more motivation to move forward. Thank you all!’.

The ÓpticaPro team is very happy and proud of this honour. Congratulations Vítor, congratulations Maxivisão. Victory is Portuguese!
