That’s Marta Fernandes, the face behind Ergovisão Ermesinde. An optometrist with experience abroad, Marta returned to Portugal and fulfilled a wish she had had for some time: to have her own business. It was at Ergovisão that she found the ideal partner for ‘this adventure’ that she had been looking forward to and which makes her ‘happy and fulfilled’.
How and when did this Ergovisão Ermesinde project come about?
After working as an optometrist for the Ergovisão Group, the opportunity arose to take over the franchise of the Ermesinde shop. This shop had already opened some time before and, with my husband’s support, I took on this project. The shop was closed for some time for renovations and opened on 25 March 2023. Taking over this franchise was a personal achievement. It was something I had already wanted and I ended up realising it in Portugal, contrary to what I thought. But I can say that I’m much more fulfilled now than I was in Luxembourg, both professionally and personally. This optic is almost like the rebirth of my life, it represents a few endeavours and it also represents my family.
How is the Ergovisão Ermesinde team formed?
The team is made up of two people: myself, as optometrist and manager, and an employee, as salesman and technician. We also have fellow optometrists who carry out consultations in more specialised areas, such as advanced contactology with special lenses and binocular vision and orthoptics (correction with prismatic lenses and visual therapy). In addition, we have a colleague in the hearing area (he carries out hearing assessments and fittings for hearing aids).
