Ryan James, managing director of the British group Eyespace, visited Porto at the end of July and met with Ergovisão, the company’s partner since 2022. Emídio Rodrigues, CEO of the Portuguese group, explains that this connection was an “opportunity to include exclusive brands with high-quality standards in the group’s portfolio,” and so far has been “very positive.”
“The partnership with Eyespace came about in 2022, during the Mido fair, where we met this British group and saw an opportunity to include exclusive brands with high-quality standards in our portfolio. The partnership made perfect sense by bringing together brands and concepts that collaborate with technical rigor and strong know-how in optical products and services,” Emídio Rodrigues begins to explain.
With a presence in the market for over 25 years, the founders of the British company Eyespace are “passionate about bringing the best of British design and quality products at the best possible prices.” The group combines knowledge in eyewear design, relationships with manufacturing facilities of designers, and the needs of patients, “creating a portfolio of exceptional and iconic British designer brands that harmoniously fit with award-winning collections.” With over a thousand styles and a “smart” approach to customer needs, they offer frame options to accommodate all genders, ages, face shapes, tastes, and budgets.
For the CEO of the Ergovisão group, the materials from the brands distributed by Eyespace “are of high quality, featuring Japanese titanium and Mazzucchelli acetate, as well as sustainable materials such as recycled stainless steel, bio-acetate, and G850 Rnew.” According to Emídio Rodrigues, one of the aspects taken into account when choosing this partnership and brands was undoubtedly sustainability. Eyespace indeed seeks to focus on social and environmental responsibility, having received the first Sustainability Award at the UK Optician Awards. “Our goal is simple: to have the most sustainable business possible, while maintaining the highest standards in design and quality,” they state.
