The National Opticians Association (ANO) commissioned an economic study on the optical industry in Portugal from the Centre for Applied Studies (CEA) of the Catholic University of Portugal (UCP). Its aim is to analyse the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the industry. The data will result in a set of concrete measures to support optical retailers.

Therefore, the members of the ANO will receive an email directly from the Catholic University with a link to access the survey. The collection and processing of the data will be the exclusive responsibility of this institution.

It is very important to listen to the needs of the opticians and the ANO will use the study’s results to support its demands to the banks and government bodies.

The study will be based on three main areas: the current (where and how we are), the future (what will happen to the market, companies and customers) and the financial (which will analyse the current situation of companies as well as the concrete support that this industry needs).

“It is essential that optical entrepreneurs respond to this survey, so that everyone can benefit from more and better support in this very complicated stage for the global economy and in particular for the optical industry,” says the ANO.
