The Portuguese brand, André Opticas, arrived on 5th April, at Tivoli Forum, with a stand where some of the most exclusive models in the world can be seen. The new boutique is already the brand’s second shop on the capital’s emblematic avenue and tells a whole new story.
André Opticas inaugurated its latest space in Avenida da Liberdade, in Lisbon, on the same day that shops with areas of up to 200 square metres and a door to the street were allowed to reopen due to the deconfinement plan implemented in our country.
Thought out and designed to the last detail, the new shops for André Opticas were prepared and open, even during the pandemic. “André Opticas’ new family mood” has a decor with Scandinavian inspirations.
This shop of almost 50 metres squared is the second of André Opticas in the most emblematic and luxurious street in the capital. The space is used to the maximum in terms of functionality and design, contemplating elements of the highest quality, handmade in Portugal and tailor-made for this new shop. Among the furniture, there is a piece of palissander furniture, with curved lines and doors, worked by master craftsmen carpenters and covers the first half of the space, destined for the reception of clients.
Passing this welcome area, you are presented with special editions and rare models of some of the most exclusive eyewear collections in the world, which can be found in a customised display case deliberately designed for this new space. It is a complex structure made from of brass and marble from Estremoz, which highlights the main protagonists of this story, sunglasses and frames. Coming from “four corners of the world”, these pieces are curated by a highly specialised team and are ready to receive the most demanding clients.
Despite these uncertain times, caused by the pandemic and successive lockdowns, André Opticas decided to expand business and open its seventh shop, on its 40-year anniversary. The Tivoli Forum shop is a strategic investment in a privileged location, which joins the Oeiras shops in Rua da Figueirinha, the brand’s first shop, and in OeirasParque, the Cascais shop in Cascaishopping, and the three shops in Lisbon in Rua Garrett, Rua Serpa Pinto and Avenida da Liberdade. The new Tivoli Forum boutique comes at a time when Avenida da Liberdade has returned to activity with the launch of the first website dedicated entirely to its commerce.
1981 is the date of foundation of André Opticas, which brought a differentiated offer from that which could be found on the Portuguese market at the time. On the one hand, it bet on the exclusive collections, on the other hand, in a specialized service and in the care provided to customers.
In 2014, there was an exhibitions in the Musuem of Fashion and design (MUDE), in Lisbon, where more that 400 piece of the companys’ collection were displayed. More recently, in 2019, a studio was opened in the heart of Chiado. This inauguration was accompanied by the launch of its own brand, Family Affair, which now allows the brand’s customers to create their own bespoke and personalised glasses, handcrafted from quality materials.
