When we arrived at the Hotel HF Ipanema Porto, we were welcomed with open arms by the Prooptica team. Alexandra Fernandes, head of business unit (glasses), and Mafalda Moreira, head of marketing, did the “honors of the house” and showed us the news.
“We start with the collection that we will launch on the market in 2020, the Amália eyewear line. As part of the celebrations of the centenary of the birth of Amália Rodrigues, the Amália Foundation and Prooptica signed a cooperation agreement for the launch of the Amália eyewear line. It is a collection inspired by Amalia as woman, of elegant classic style, with boldness and modern elements. And, to honor the eternal Portuguese diva and pique the curiosity of our customers, we created in the exhibition the ‘Cantinho Amália’, a space with decoration related to fado, highlighting the marigolds, one of the favorite flowers of Amália Rodrigues, and we are to offer to those who visit us ”. When questioned for the reasons of this bet, they stated that they had already thought of developing a classic lady line in the Trendy segment.
“This partnership with the Foundation arrived on time, as it complements our portfolio. In addition, we are a company closely linked to Portugal, with 100% Portuguese capital, and we promote national brands ”.
