The Lekar brand entered the market in 2012 in the area of ophthalmic lens cleaning consumables. The owner of the brand, Vítor Gomes, after consolidating the business in consumables, had the boldness to create a line of glasses with his trademark. Through the direct contact with the optics, the manager was accumulating ideas on the demand of a certain type of customer regarding the design, style and quality of the glasses.
Qualified in the field of Economics, the brand manager is a staunch defender of a “sustained economy in national production”, where he believes that “consolidating the business in the domestic market is a step towards exporting”.
The manufacturing of the glasses is made in a factory in Portugal with a lot of experience in the field. “Several procedures are maintained to ensure quality in the various stages of the production chain. The design of the items was executed based on the recreation of a retro line coated in a style associated with the new tendencies of the current fashion”.
The “Portugal” brand and the “handmade in Portugal” concept is gaining credibility in several areas. And this is the path that Lekar wants to follow.
