For more than 50 years, ÓTICAS-OCT has been a key player in the optics sector, leading the market in the Torres Vedras municipality. On December 9, they reopened their store on Rua 1º de Dezembro, and ÓpticaPro was present at the reopening.

This reopening marks the completion of the remodeling cycle for all ÓTICAS-OCT stores, which began at the end of 2021 with the restructuring of the optics store on Av. 5 de Outubro in Torres Vedras, followed by the Encarnação and Sobral de Monte Agraço stores in 2022, and concluding with the flagship store on Rua 1º de Dezembro.

The restructuring project demonstrated a strong commitment to the rehabilitation and innovation of local commerce, taking an active role in the economic, social, and environmental sustainability of the regions where ÓTICAS-OCT operates. Throughout this process, ÓTICAS-OCT focused on significantly improving the design, functionality, and efficiency of each store, aiming to provide customers with a personalized shopping experience tailored to their needs while maintaining a community-oriented perspective. They offer innovative services and products aligned with visual health.

Brief history of the flagship store (1st of December)
The flagship store represents the history and growth strategy of ÓTICAS-OCT (Oculista Central Torreense), serving the population of the western region for over 50 years. In 1980, they became independent from Farmácia Torreense, occupying the 1st store of the new building at 1 R. 1º de Dezembro. In 2008, with the acquisition of the 2nd store, they expanded the space, significantly improving their service. In 2022, they occupied the 3rd store, relocating the Consultation Office to the ground floor, with evident advantages for their patients. At the end of 2023, they concluded the expansion project of the flagship store by enlarging the space to the store facing R. António França Borges.

“The expansion of our flagship store’s space has accompanied the company’s development over the years. We have expanded our reach with the opening of new stores. The team has grown to meet the needs of existing stores and an increasingly competitive market. We have improved and innovated in service, continuously training our staff, and offering the best and latest developments in the optics sector. We share with the community the sustainable success that it provides us through a Social Responsibility strategy that consolidates over time. Without false modesty, we believe that we contribute positively to the dynamism of Torres Vedras’ street commerce, combining tradition and modernity. We have reached the end of a stage. Others will come. This is the moment to enjoy. Come and enjoy with us the reopening of this significant space in Torres Vedras’ traditional commerce,” says Luís Góis, general director of ÓTICAS-OCT.

The restructuring strategy of ÓTICAS-OCT was accompanied by an investment in the acquisition of brands and products aligned not only with trends but also more sustainable and inclusive to respond to all customers.

It is worth noting that all the stores were redesigned by architect Patrícia Mateus and designer Hugo Santos, both from Torres Vedras, who brought a more modern, attractive, and youthful image, creating a more inviting atmosphere for customers. This new approach placed a key focus on environmental sustainability.
