The Brodheim Group has completed the process of acquiring Alain Afflelou’s shareholding in the Optivisão Group, a national optical group with 30 years of existence and a network of approximately 250 opticians.
The acquisition of Alain Afflelou’s shareholding in Optivisão consolidates the Brodheim Group’s position as the largest single shareholder in this Portuguese company. This buyout is part of the Brodheim Group’s expansion strategy in Portugal. Optivisão’s strategic action focuses on reformulating the management model and developing the business model of the franchisee network. In the next year, Optivisão expects to have 260 stores in operation.
With the completion of this acquisition, the Brodheim Group marks a turning point in the history of Optivisão. According to André Brodheim, director of Optivisão, “we will continue to implement an Optivisão strategy that will ensure that the optical sector is valued and updated in line with the modern brand repositioning and excellent service in eye care established at the time of the Brodheim Group’s entry on the board at the end of 2016”.
“Optivisão’s positioning, in line with seven decades of experience in retail management and the representation of excellent brands from the Brodheim Group, will certainly enhance a new business cycle that is unparalleled and successful”.
