Supported by the Environmental Fund, as part of the Support for the Renovation and Increased Energy Performance of Large Service Buildings, the set of actions also included the 100% implementation of an LED lighting system, as well as the replacement of doors and windows with alternative, more environmentally friendly solutions.
One of the main interventions involves producing energy for self-consumption from renewable sources. More than 40 photovoltaic panels have been installed, which will have the capacity to completely supply the building’s energy needs. In addition, more than a dozen pieces of equipment in the HVAC system, referring to the air conditioning and ventilation of the interior space, were also replaced to leverage and maximize energy efficiency.
“We believe that with this project, which we have entitled “F3M +Sustentável” and which has joined a brand we already launched several years ago, “F3M Eco-Friendly”, we are on the right track and in line with the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda,” says Pedro Fraga, CEO of F3M.
With these measures, F3M hopes to reduce its ecological footprint. According to the Energy Audit Report carried out previously, it is estimated that the building’s activity generates CO2 emissions of around 26 tons per year. This is an environmental impact that is now expected to be reduced with the wide range of investments made in the meantime.
