After the success of the first edition, CECOP has decided to go ahead with the second edition of its optical management programme. The programme is conducted entirely online and in partnership with ISCTE – Executive Education.

“CECOP, which now boasts over 6000 opticians worldwide, aims to detect and solve the needs of independent opticians. We respect the independence and freedom of the associates who are with us and provide new tools and services to facilitate the management of their business. It was with this thought and in accordance with our mission that we had the idea of elaborating a personalized Program for opticians, who wish to keep themselves updated and improve the management of their business”, says Júlia Padilha, responsible for the project.

The second edition of the optical management programme starts next January and aims to “improve the management skills of opticians through a training programme specifically designed for them”.

Based on five intensive modules, with 60 hours of training, the programme will cover the following themes: Financial Management, Purchasing and Stock Management, Sales Management, Digital Marketing and People Management.

The new programme also includes the design of specific programmes for the needs of CECOP associates, academic sessions (60 hours), handouts for the sessions (available in digital format), use of the ISCTE EE digital teaching platform, remote operational support from the ISCTE EE team, a final programme evaluation report and a certificate of participation.

“We have made some changes to the programme for this second edition, namely in some modules. Upon completion of the first edition, all participants must fill in a questionnaire in order to better understand which areas of the programme could be improved, and we found out that the module ‘Operations Management’ needed a slight adjustment in content, so we changed it to ‘Purchasing & Inventory Management’.  In addition, in this edition we have added more practical examples from the day to day life of opticians. For these changes, and for believing very much in this programme, we hope that the second edition is a success yet again. Given that the course is online, we have limited the number of spaces to 25 participants, and we are sure that this number of participants will be reached quickly”, says Júlia Padilha.

CECOP hopes that this course will be as successful as the first and believes that “deepening and updating knowledge is always important for good business management.”
