MultiOpticas marks the World Literacy Day, September 8, with the initiative \u201cSeeing well to learn better\u201d. This action is \u201caimed at promoting the importance of literacy and improving the vision of those who need it the most\u201d. This action of solidarity takes place in the locality with the highest illiteracy rate in Portugal, the parish of Casteleiro, Sabugal, in Beira Alta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a statement, MultiOpticas has revealed that the initiative is \u201cintegrated in the Corporate Social Responsibility Program\u201d of the company, in an action carried out \u201ctogether with the Sabugal City Hall, which immediately supported this action since the beginning and the Casteleiro Parish Council, which will be the stage and focus of this event.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The brand, which belongs to the GrandVision Group, adds that the initiative aims to \u201csupport illiterate adults or those with a low level of literacy, helping them learn to read and write. MultiOpticas supports this action by “conducting free eye tests and offering prescription glasses to people with greater socio-economic difficulties whose vision is found to be deteriorating.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ana Portugal, Head of CSR & Sustainability at MultiOpticas, points out that \u201cour goal with this action on the day that marks World Literacy Day is to ensure the community of the municipality of Sabugal, that they have a better quality of life because by seeing well, they will certainly learn better.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Included in this solidary action, MultiOpticas will \u201coffer pedagogical books to the aforementioned parish and a teacher will be sent to teach these adults to read and write.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
