This initiative, organised by the Facebook group Optical News Portugal, remotely brought together some professionals in the field. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the issues raised by the participants was the role of online retail in optics. For Fernando Casinha, it\u2019s an undeniable reality that\u2019s here to stay. \u201cI want to believe that optical professionals will be difficult to replace with machines in terms of retail but also visual health. There will always be some consumers who prefer the traditional, local opticians to the more convenient and stronger alternatives. Humans still need contact and more professional advice.
