We were talking to El\u00edsio Marques and Jo\u00e3o Cunha, CEO and commercial director of Morel Portugal, respectively. The purpose of this meeting was to take stock of the company\u2019s fisrt year and a half of activity in our country, which \u2013 according to those responsable \u2013 is 100% positive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Morel Portugal started operating in July 2018, but it was a few months earlier, in May, that DMDI \u2013 Eyewear Solutions announced the creation of this new company. The disclosure happened within the framework of the celebration of the 20th anniversary of DMDI, company directed by El\u00edsio Marques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the time, general director of Morel Internacional, J\u00e9r\u00f4me Morel, said that \u201cthe family\u201d had grown. The creation of our co-company Morel Portugal is an excellent opportunity that will strengthen our presence in the market. Alone we go faster, but together we go further\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
El\u00edsio Marques added that, \u201cafter two decades, it is a great pride to be able to share the same values of a house like Morel\u201d. The Portuguese responsible assumed that \u201cwe are talking about a company with over 140 years of existence, with great credibility in the international market. Moreover, it is a family structure (which is already in the fourth generation, something rare to happen!), independent and dynamic, that over the years has known how to overcome the whims of this sector\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When asked about the national market’s acceptance of this bet, they said it could not be better. \u201cWe feel that by being associated with a name like Morel, we get even greater credibility from the opticians. And today, credibility is substantial. We also feel more strength and confidence from our partners, willing to continue to develop the business with us.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
